Though there are a lot of new features included with Windows 10, the minimum system requirements haven't taken a huge leap since the previous OS generation. As Microsoft says on their Windows 10 Preview system requirements page: "Basically, if your PC can run Windows 8.1, you're good to go. If you're not sure, don't worry - Windows will check your system to make sure it can install the preview."

There is good news on the Windows 10 horizon. Microsoft is hoping to take a lot of the pain out of deploying Windows updates with a new free feature called Windows Update for Business.

The release will come after months of user testing of the new OS via the Windows Insider program and, as previously reported, Win 10 will be a free upgrade for many users.

The current requirements for Windows 10 Home and Pro are the same. These requirements are subject to some tweaks prior to the release of Windows 10, but don’t expect any big changes.
